Sun Devil Marching Band

The ASU Sun Devil Marching Band is recognized as one of the finest marching bands in the nation. Most recently, the band performed at the Big 12 Championship game, collaborating with Ne-Yo for an unforgettable halftime show. Over the years, the band has also collaborated with renowned artists such as Tower of Power, Little Richard, Talita Real, and Boston Brass, further cementing its reputation for musical excellence and versatility.

The 350+ member ensemble has earned accolades like the John Philip Sousa Foundation Sudler Trophy in 1991, the highest honor at the collegiate level, and has graced prestigious events, including the Rose Bowl halftime shows and the 1987 and 1997 Rose Bowl parades. Performing in Sun Devil Stadium, the band combines fresh musical arrangements, intricate precision drills, and engaging pageantry at all home games. Hard work, high standards, and a welcoming family atmosphere foster a unique Sun Devil Pride within the organization.

Beyond the thrill of performance, the band provides a space to build close friendships, celebrate school spirit, and experience musical rewards for aspiring musicians and non-music majors alike. Whether you're pursuing a career in music or simply enjoy playing as an avocation, the ASU Sun Devil Marching Band offers a rich and unique collegiate experience.

Incoming students are invited to join an activity central to campus life. Membership in any of the athletic bands is open to all university and community college students with prior band experience. Rehearsals for the Sun Devil Marching Band are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:30–6:30 p.m.
